Ecstasis is an elevated mental state of flow and transcendence.

For those not familiar with the concept, it is an elusive state of mind where a person becomes so engrossed in the task at hand that everything else simply melts away. As external distractions are eliminated, people find that their creativity and actions are guided by intuition as opposed to restrictive thought.

Ecstasis is what high-performing artists, athletes, and academics draw upon when they are in the zone. It is a heightened state, a magic state, where consciousness evolves to new planes, and creativity flows unimpeded.

Ecstasis, in many respects is a drug, albeit a natural one that stems from the release of various neurochemicals in the brain.
